What is ARMAX™ Fabric?

ARMAX™ Fabric is a laminated hybrid fabric that combines Aramid with polyamide 6.6 fibers. Like TITAN HMPE Fabric, it uses a laminated construction to improve cohesion, durability, and resistance to environmental exposure. The difference is in the fiber: where TITAN uses HMPE for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, ARMAX™ uses Aramid for applications where thermal stability, flame resistance, and superior cut performance are the primary requirements.

Para-aramid is one of the most well-established high-performance fiber materials in industrial applications. It delivers high linear strength, very low elongation, excellent dimensional stability under continuous load, and reliable performance across a wide temperature range. Critically, Aramid does not melt, which makes it suitable for heat-exposed environments.

ARMAX™ translates these fiber properties into a laminated fabric construction designed for protective and load-bearing applications in rope, lifting, and rigging.

Where ARMAX™ Fabric is used

ARMAX™ is engineered for applications where one or more of the following conditions apply:

• Elevated operating temperatures or exposure to flame.
• Contact with sharp edges under repeated mechanical stress.
• Chemical environments that require high resistance.
• Safety-critical protective covers, sleeves, or components where predictable long-term performance is essential.

Typical applications include protective sleeves and covers for high-performance ropes and slings, lifting and rigging components in high-heat environments, and protective textile constructions requiring cut resistance combined with structural integrity.

How ARMAX™ and TITAN compare

Both fabrics share the same laminated construction standard and are produced and tested in-house in Germany. The choice between them is straightforward: if the primary performance drivers are strength-to-weight efficiency and abrasion resistance in standard lifting and rope environments, TITAN HMPE Fabric is the right solution. If heat resistance, flame behaviour, or cut performance under load are the determining factors, ARMAX™ is the correct choice.

TP’s approach is always independent. As a processor rather than a fiber producer, TP has no preference for one material over the other. The recommendation is always driven by what the application actually requires.

High-quality yarn producer TP Industrial Yarns has acquired Technotex Ankum

TP Industrial Yarns (or TPI Group) has taken over the complete production of Technotex Ankum as of 1 March, 2023. With the acquisition of production activities in Ankum Germany, TP Industrial Yarns is expanding its processing capacity from approx. 2,000 MT per year to a capacity of 6,000 MT. As a consequence, we are now one of the largest producer of technical and high-performance yarns in Europe.

The acquisition fits into TP’s strategy for several reasons. It helps us to add value within the production chain and continue our increasing specialisation in the field of high-performance materials and technical yarns. In addition, our own production in Europe allows us to respond faster and with smaller quantities to the demand for deliveries within this market.

With this complete takeover, a large amount of knowledge and capacity will be retained in the European market. It is important for TP to use this expertise accurately. Furthermore, the relationship between TP and Technotex dates back to the inception of TP Industrial Yarns in the early 2000s. The acquisition, therefore, feels like the culmination of the two companies’ long history together.

The new entity – part of the TPI Group – will be called TPI Germany GmbH. The TPI Group, including its subsidiaries TP Industrial Yarns (EU) and TP Industrial Yarns USA, is a company where quality is at the heart of what we do and is critical in our mission to empower success with world-class customised yarns. We focus on adding value, and we back our approach with extensive expertise and a deep knowledge of both verticals and constructions whilst holding sustainability as one of our key values. New head office in the Netherlands

We are happy to announce that TP Industrial Yarns is relocating its head office to a new facility!

Our new headquarters is located in Nootdorp (Rotterdam area) and offers enhanced amenities and resources to support our expanding team and evolving business needs. Marc is promoted to Sales
We’re happy to announce that Marc has been promoted to the Sales department! This new role is a testament to his dedication and hard work. To kickstart his new position, Marc embarked on a business trip to Scotland and England with Friso. During this trip, they visited several key customers, strengthening our relationships and exploring new business opportunities.

Marc is also committed to enhancing his management skills. He has enrolled in courses and training programs with Crestcom, a renowned leadership development organization. These courses are designed to equip him with the necessary skills to excel in his new role, to be your partner and help you to propel your ambitions with world-class customized yarns.

Quality & Production Team
Our quality and production team, comprising Maurice and Aleksandra, has been making significant steps too.

Aleksandra is now leading our testing facility, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Her thorough approach and attention to detail are invaluable to our quality assurance processes. She is making sure that the new testing area is functioning smoothly.

Maurice is leading the digital transformation of our entire production program. This ambitious project aims to streamline our production processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy. Master of International supply chain management 
Tobias has recently decided to further advance his career within TP by pursuing a master’s degree in International Supply Chain Management. This decision not only offers him the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and skills in logistics and supply chain management but also positions him for growth into more strategic roles within the company. 

With the new insights and expertise Tobias will gain during his studies, he will focus on various projects within TP, aiming to optimize and streamline internal processes. This means he will collaborate closely with different departments to ensure that the supply chain, from start to finish, operates smoothly and without interruptions.
